Two staff members at Donisthorpe Hall and one supporter really came up trumps last month when they completed the Asda Foundation Leeds 10K run and raised some much needed funds for the home.
Harriet Eaton, the care home physiotherapist, Charles Holdsworth, fundraising manager and Eli Sufrin, all finished the 10K run with flying colours.
The run underwent a revamp last year with a new flatter and faster course and is now in its 9th year. The race headed south of the city along Kirkstall Road and concluded with an exhilarating finish on the Headrow outside Leeds Town Hall.
For Charles it was an emotional run as he will be leaving Donisthorpe Hall at the end of August after giving 13 years service.
“It was important to leave on a high note, so running the Leeds 10K and raising some more funds was an ideal opportunity,” he said.
“The run itself was tough as the temperature was over 25 degrees, but we started and finished the race as a team.”
