When young Benjamin Goldberg was Bar Mitzvah earlier this year philanthropy was very much on his mind.
He decided to donate some of his Bar Mitzvah gifts of money to charity.
Benjamin, whose grandfather Michael is a Donisthorpe Hall trustee, naturally chose the Moortown care home.
“It was very important for me to make a donation to charity, so I chose the care home as it is a cause so close to my grandpa’s heart,” he said.
Donisthorpe Hall fundraising director Alexandra Myers said for a young man of thirteen to decide that he wants to make a Bar Mitzvah donation was “such a benevolent act of kindness.
“We are so grateful to Benjamin for thinking about us. We are giving him a wish list so he can decide what he would like us to purchase for the residents with his kind, thoughtful and generous donation.”
