The Jewish ethos of “home” is what makes us unique. This is reflected, above all, in our beautiful synagogue, which is designed to accommodate wheelchairs.
Services are held every Friday evening and Saturday morning and on all Jewish festivals. There is Kiddush after the Saturday morning service and we can arrange for residents to commemorate special occasions at this time. Residents' families and visitors are always welcome.
Services encompass all levels of belief and practice, so residents have access to, and can participate in, whatever they personally enjoy. Every Shabbat, the Chassidishe synagogue conducts a service and we can also arrange visits on request from the clergy of a resident's own synagogue.
Residents can light yahrzeit candles for loved ones and special prayers are recited during the Shabbat service for those with yahrzeit and also for those whose names are lit up in the synagogue's memorial hall. Memorial plaques can be installed.
Non-Jewish residents are actively encouraged to continue to practice their own faith.
