Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get into Donisthorpe Hall?
You should contact the home's Chief Executive Officer, who will discuss your personal requirements with you.
How much does it cost to stay at Donisthorpe Hall?
We try to be as flexible as possible in regard to finance and will discuss your particular situation in private.
Which belongings can I bring with me into the home?
We encourage residents to personalise their room, with photos and pictures. As we obviously have space limitations we have to ensure that any items brought into the home comply with Health & Safety regulations. Our Admissions department will happily give you advice on specific requests.
How can I attend the hospital outpatients clinic?
If a family member can't accompany you, we will make every effort to send a member of staff with you.
I am diabetic and need a special diet. What happens about my meals?
The catering team is very experienced at providing for any special dietary needs. They will be told about your personal requirements by your key worker.
I currently need residential care. Will I have to move room if I need nursing care?
Not necessarily. We will regularly review your needs and may move you if that is in your best interests.
My family like me to go their home for Shabbat dinner. Will this still be possible?
Certainly. Residents may come and go as they wish. All we ask is that you inform a member of staff on your unit and sign out at reception.
If I am self-funding, can I still claim attendance allowance?
Yes. For details on how to claim, ring the attendance allowance helpline on 0845 123456.
Do you have to be Jewish to live at Donisthorpe Hall?
Not at all. We welcome everyone wishing to live in our orthodox Jewish environment.
How much capital am I allowed to have before I can apply for financial help from the local council?
The current limit, which includes your property and investments, is £19,500. Please check with the Admissions department to see if this has changed.
